Kentucky Pre-hospital Determination of Death

Course Description

The state of Kentucky requires all paramedics to take a Determination of Death class. This class is usually incorporated into the state paramedic curriculum. However, paramedics who are trying to get reciprocity in Kentucky are required to take this class within 6 months being issued a Kentucky provisional license. Due to limited demand, this class is only done on request.

The class covers the following:

  • Injuries incompatible with life.
  • Rhythm recognition and confirmation.
  • Legal responsibilities.
